Younger
Voice Test Zones
Now
you can engage large numbers of children in online user-testing and
quickly gather their feedback on your ideas and resources. You
can see their responses to your first ideas or sketches, and engage
them hands-on in testing your prototypes or reviewing your finished
projects.
In
the BBC Test Zone, for example, our children have been using and
evaluating BBC online resources and we have been able to
provide the BBC with invaluable feedback from the target age groups
they want to reach. The BBC were delighted with the children’s honest,
considered feedback on their online learning resources.
At
the heart of the Test Zone is a window to your online resource, embedded
in
a discussion forum. The children use your resource and discuss
their experiences within the forum.
The
Intuitive Media mediation team (protecting the interests and identities
of children) actively stimulate the children’s curiosity and creativity
and encourage them to discuss their experience of your project -
their
first impressions,
what
they enjoyed, what they think they learned, what was easy,
what was hard, what surprised or delighted them, what they
didn’t understand,
what help they needed, what didn’t work the way they expected,
what was broken, what could be better, what new things they
would like
etc.
After
anonymisation, to protect children’s identities, Younger Voice will
send you the content of the forums.
Other
options include:
- Instant
Poll: children complete a related poll with multiple choice
questions on your project and you get instant display of aggregate
results
- Dedicated
Club: children can post longer evaluative articles
about
your project to a dedicated club page
- Live
Hot-Seat: children can take part in a live remote Hot-Seat focus-group
with
your design team, so you can talk to them directly
from your studio
or office in real time and they will tell you exactly
what they think
- Research
Survey: we can design a detailed survey to collate
and analyse the children’s
collective experience of your project
- Interpretive
report: we can collate and analyse all the children’s data
and present a formal written report which includes
outputs of all
relevant children’s content, shows patterns and
trends in the responses, evaluates the strength
of children’s opinions
and makes recommendations for your consideration.
You
will receive confidential feedback which could include results of
polls and surveys, extracts of forum discussions, children’s reports
and a full analysis from our staff.
So
the children have fun exploring your ideas and resources and learn
about design
and development processes. You get valuable practical feedback
straight from the children that could save you time and money and
help you
home in accurately on the tastes and needs of your target users,
so reducing your risk and improving your chances of success.
As
experienced content developers themselves, Intuitive
Media know how valuable it can be to have
really practical feedback. They have enjoyed the services of
over 500,000 bug-hunters in SuperClubsPLUS and GoldStarCafe and tens
of thousands
of children who regularly tell them how to improve the communities
to meet their needs. Now you can reach these children and benefit
from their creative energy.
